A big thank you to our Student Volunteers!

10th February 2022

This week marks Student Volunteering Week (7th-13th February), an opportunity to celebrate all of our fantastic Student Volunteers who give their time to support our local community.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to our Student Volunteers at Volunteering Barnet, who balance education alongside volunteering and make such a difference to the London Borough of Barnet.

Volunteering is an excellent way to build and learn new skills, meet a variety of people, make an impact and have fun! For students, volunteering can also offer an opportunity to gain experience for your CV, try a variety of roles in different sectors to help decide a future career path and in some instances offer a route into paid employment.

Whether you are a student looking to gain experience in your chosen field, or someone looking to develop their skills outside of education, we have lots of roles available to suit you.

Here’s what some of our volunteers, aged between 16 – 25, think of their volunteering experiences…

“I enjoyed myself a lot, it’s great knowing that you are helping to keep your local community safe.”

“Well organised and rewarding.”

“It was enjoyable and all the people either volunteering or working there were very friendly.”

“Good experience, I would recommend it.”

“It was a great experience! Staff were also very friendly.”

Celebrate Student Volunteering Week with us by saying thank you for your volunteers’ support, or to celebrate your own volunteering experience. We welcome posts on Twitter and Facebook and hope to re-share as many as we can! Use one, or all of these hashtags, so we can find your posts; #VolunteeringBarnet #SVW2022 #StudentVolunteeringWeek.

If you are a student looking to volunteer and start a new exciting journey today, you can discover all our available roles here.

Happy #StudentVolunteeringWeek!
