DESCRIPTION:Join our training session for Volunteer Involving Organisations on the theme of Inclusive Volunteering. \nThis short but insightful training session will be led by our Barnet Together partner organisation\, Inclusion Barnet\, a local Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisation (DDPO). It will explore the following themes: \n\nThe social model of disability: a powerful way to shift thinking from “fixing” individuals to removing the systemic and cultural barriers that disable people\nCo-production/ and co-design with Disabled volunteers: how we can move beyond consultations to partnership in role design and delivery\nEmbedding access into culture and practical ways to normalise inclusion without “over-engineering”\nBarriers to inclusion: exploring how assumptions\, language and bureaucracy can all exclude – and how to constructively challenge that\n\nWe will support you to think about how you can make your organisation more accessible to volunteers and explore tangible examples of inclusive volunteering roles. We will also have time for you to ask questions and will end the session with an “open forum”\, an opportunity you to raise any other topics you may wish to discuss. \nLocation:\nThis event will take place on Zoom. \nWe look forward to seeing you! \nREGISTER HERE
